WEBINAR: For-Profit Child Care: Implications, Challenges and Opportunities

Since the pandemic, there has been more discussion at a national level about the impact of public and private investment in child care and the quality of early childhood education. While over 80% of child care providers are for-profit, what, if anything, does the rise of private equity investment mean for children and families? This session hosted by the Campaign for Grade Level Reading will bring the perspectives of advocates and researchers to a discussion of the concerns and opportunities as well as the actions needed to ensure there is continued attention on what is in the best interest of children and families. Panelists will explore how private equity and other profit-seeking investments are intersecting with local, state and federal government investments and what we can all do to ensure that high-quality child care remains affordable and attainable.
