The first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term have featured a torrent of education activity. President Trump moved to abolish the US Department of Education, slashing its workforce and yanking hundreds of millions of dollars in grants. He issued executive orders expanding school choice and demanding changes in how institutions manage gender, antisemitism, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. His team has pursued unprecedented sanctions on Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania, while signaling that many other universities could be next.
