Helen Drinan, the current and eighth President at Simmons University, discusses small private colleges, particularly in New England and how they can compete it in the higher education landscape.
“I think the other issue is being realistic about how distinctive you are,” Drinan explains. “Everyone wants to say that they are excellent at this or providing a well rounded education at that, but you really have to look at why are people are coming here and not going somewhere else, in a way that is really defensible.”
