Josh Boots is the founder and executive director of EmpowerK12, a nonprofit, data analysis organization that focuses on schools in Washington, D.C. Prior to starting EmpowerK12, Josh served in a variety of education roles in D.C., including teaching 7th grade math at DC Public Schools, leading the KIPP DC data team, and serving as an assessment specialist for the Office of the State Superintendent of Education.
A recognized expert in assessment and data analytics. Josh serves on multiple school accountability system task forces, leads the EdFuel Data Professional Learning Community, and is a member of the D.C. State Board of Education ESSA Taskforce.
